GRADING:

            MINT: sealed in factory shrink wrap, no wear at all to cover, looks brand new

            NM (near mint): an opened record that has no marks, high gloss, no signs in dead wax of ever being played. Covers are firm, clear and straight and have no sign of wear

          NM-: barely a faint sleeve scuff or very superficial mark only noticeable under bright light. Cover has minor imperfection barely noticeable

           EX: glossy and may look near mint under normal light. Under bright light shows some signs of light use. Cover has very light shelf wear

           EX-: in between VG+ and EX.

           VG+: record shows signs of normal use. May have some light surface scuffs/scratches, may have lost some luster but generally still looks to be in decent playing condition. Mostly these will only have light background surface noise in places. Covers will have some general shelf wear but still held together nicely.

            VG: record shows several surface scuffs/scratches. Record is not trashed or covered in scratches, still worth listening to but may have more noticeable surface noise in places. Cover will have a more noticeable defect like seam wear, corner bends, etc but still acceptable. I try to be conservative as this is a very subjective grade and seems to be the most abused.

           VG-: between VG and G. maybe ok as a filler copy until you get a better one.

            G: generally rough shape. Show many scratches. Sometimes plays better than it looks but may skip or pop. You are taking chances with this one. Covers will have heavy wear, not totally trashed but rough.
