700+ sold worldwide. Superb turntable oil for all types of oil bearing turntables (eBay has banned me from naming them as apparently it violates their listing rules). Recommended by Hi-Fi World magazine June 2007 page 87. Redline 5W30 Synthetic Motor Oil. This oil was very difficult to find but I managed to purchase (at great expence due to the shipping costs) a US Quart of this fantastic oil for my Garrard 301/401 and Thorens TD124. I only needed such a small amount that I am now offering it for sale in a very handy 10ml plastic bottle with screw cap which will last you for years. The old oil should be removed and the bearing housing flushed out with detergent and cleaned with isopropanol alcohol (or just use a lint free cloth) then the correct quantity of this new oil added to the bearing housing (just a few drops at a time). Most turntables have an inner platter and spindle as one unit. Just add a small amount of oil to the reservoir so the spindle and inner platter sink slowly (hydraulic affect) to their lowest point without displacing any oil. If any oil is displaced it means you have added too much. It is always best to start with a small amount first and add a little extra if necessary. Wrap a kitchen towel around the bearing housing to catch any over spill. If using this oil on a Garrard 301 or 401 remember to soak the felt washer at the top of the housing. (This oil is obviously not designed to replace the grease in Grease bearing 301's. A general purpose automotive grease can be used. However, this oil can also be used for the idler wheel bearing and top motor bearing). 500+ satisfied worldwide customers already. Safety Data Sheet available but eBay AI will not allow a link to the PDF.
