Guarantee

6 Month guarantee against manufacturing defects. The guarantee does not cover damage caused during fitting, or caused by poor installation or servicing, accidental or malicious damage, improper use or negligence, discoloration due to long exposure to sunlight or UV lights, and general wear and tear to the item and or working parts of the item (for example, the valve in a tap, shower heads, washers, seals, any item that would be expected to be replaced periodically during the life of the item). Any working part as stated above would be covered by a 6-month warranty unless stated longer.

Operation Guidelines

  • Please ensure the clear protective sensor film has been removed from the sensor area
  • Please ensure that the batteries used are of a quality brand and are in place securely inside of the battery compartment. If the batteries are inserted incorrectly or are loose this can cause problems with the function of the bin.
  • Please ensure the sensor bin lid on/off switch located at the back of the bin lid head unit is turned on
  • When the auto sensor bin is switched on initially, please wait approximately 10 seconds before trying to use the bin as it calibrates, the red light should flash every 7-10 seconds once operational
  • To factory reset your auto sensor bin and sensor, please remove all batteries from the battery compartment for minimum of 24 hours to allow all the electrical parts and microchip within the head unit holding any charge to be completely depleted which will restore to factory setting

Delivery Procedure

We endeavour to dispatch all goods within 1 working day of your payment being received, excluding Saturday, Sunday, public holidays or stated holidays as advertised on eBay. Once your goods have been paid for in full, they will be dispatched in the following ways:

Shortage & Damage In Transit

Goods delivered within the UK are insured against damage in transit. We cannot consider any claims for shortage or damage after 7 days of delivery.

Please ensure all items are checked in full by yourself. Any shortages or damages will need to be notified to us within 7 days of delivery via the eBay messaging service. If Taps UK is not notified regarding any shortages or damage within 7 working days of delivery, we are unable to claim from either the transport company or the manufacturer.

Polite Notice

It is your responsibility to ensure that you are available to sign for your goods that you have ordered. Taps UK customer support will send you a message once we have processed your order via the eBay messaging service to advise you that your goods have been dispatched.

2. Description of Goods

Product descriptions, images, and specifications on our website are based on information from manufacturers and suppliers. They are intended as a guide. We aim for accuracy but recommend confirming technical details with qualified professionals before installation. Colour representation may vary by screen.

3. Delivery Information

Delivery charges are based on the largest item in your order. All delivery times are stated in working days and are estimates only.

Important: Do not book installers until all items are received and checked. We are not liable for costs resulting from delays.

If an item is out of stock, we will contact you with an estimated delivery date. You can choose to part-ship available items or wait for full delivery.

Delivery Windows:

  • Standard delivery: Monday to Friday, 7 am–9 pm (excluding public holidays).
  • Expedited delivery: Available only where stated. Orders must be placed before 2:00 pm.

Delivery Methods:

  • Small items: Usually delivered via Royal Mail. May require a signature.
  • Medium items: Delivered by couriers such as DPD, Yodel, or Parcel Force. Signature required. If no one is available, a card will be left.
  • Large & Extra Large items: Delivered by specialist couriers. Signature required. You must check items for visible damage before signing. Damaged items should be refused and marked as damaged.
  • Special Delivery items: Delivered kerbside via pallet. An able-bodied person must be present to receive delivery.

Valid Contact Information Required: For all deliveries, particularly fragile and large items, you must provide a valid contact telephone number at checkout. Couriers rely on this to complete delivery. Missing contact details may result in delays or failed delivery attempts.

4. Damage in Transit

Goods are insured against damage during transit. You must report damage within 7 days of delivery. Claims made after this period may not be accepted.

5. Shortages

Report any missing items within 7 days of delivery. After this, we may charge for replacements. Reports must include order number and full contact details.

7. Cancellations and Returns

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving the goods. You do not need to give a reason.

To cancel, notify our customer service team. You then have another 14 days to return the goods. Return postage for change-of-mind cancellations is at your expense.

We also offer a 30-day money-back guarantee for unused items in original packaging. Submit a request through our online helpdesk. A returns reference will be issued.

8. Exchanges

Exchanges are offered for up to 30 days from delivery. You must return the product in saleable condition with original packaging. Return and re-delivery costs are your responsibility.

9. Product Guarantee

All products have a minimum 6-month guarantee against manufacturing defects. Some items may have longer warranties—check individual listings.

Guarantees do not cover:

  • Damage from incorrect installation or misuse
  • Wear and tear (e.g. valves, washers)
  • UV or sunlight-related discolouration
  • Use of unauthorised replacement parts

Claims require proof of purchase. We may charge a £10 admin fee to retrieve order data if not provided.

10. Fault Resolution

Depending on the issue and timing, we will:

  1. Refund
  2. Replace a part
  3. Repair the item
  4. Offer an exchange

Contact our team via the helpdesk with full details and photos. If photos aren’t available, we may arrange collection for inspection. If no fault is found, return postage costs are your responsibility.

11. Returns Procedure

All returns require a valid returns form. Package items carefully. We recommend tracked, insured shipping.

Goods returned in person must be arranged in advance. Refunds are processed within 14 days of receiving returned goods.

12. International Customers

We honour guarantees for overseas customers but cannot cover postage costs for replacements or returns outside the UK.
