OFFERED TODAY IS THIS WONDERFUL LATE 1960'S/EARLY 1970'S 'CAUNY PRIMA' VALJOUX 7733 CHRONOGRAPH WATCH IN ORIGINAL CONDITION.


THIS PARTICLULAR MODEL WITH ITS COPPER FLECKED 'STARDUST' DIAL DO NOT COME AROUND VERY OFTEN.


A WATCH FOR THE COLLECTOR, OR THE VALJOUX CHRONO ENTHUSIAST WHO WANTS SOMETHING A LITTLE DIFFERENT.



CASE:


This is a lovely 2 piece screw back stainless steel ' Tonneau' shaped case with its mirror finished bezel. It is in excellent original condition, showing as you would expect some light scratches and nibbles to the case edges here and there. The case is marked to the back 'SWISS CAUNY PRIMA' 'Fond Acier inoxidable, 'Swiss made' and all the usual claims about waterproofness and antimagnetic etc. Unusually this case back is numbered 975840. The case back SCREWS on as it should, has its original gasket present. The case measures 37mm across. This is a lovely original chronograph watch case.


DIAL:


This superb watch has the most lovely and as far as I know LTD EDITION copper flecked 'Stardust' deep blue dial. I must admit that at first I thought that the dial had aged badly but when I looked closer I could see that these copper flecks had been added on purpose by CAUNY to give a night time stardust effect. The dial also has a beautiful white ceramic INTERNAL tachy dial as well. It is signed by 'CAUNY'. The dial has excellent retro hands and subsidiary dial hands. The stop watch centre second hand is a gorgeous red color, as is the minute recorder hand.The hands show very little wear and are excellent. The dial has matching white metal baton numerals.


MOVEMENT:


This fantastic retro chronograph wrist watch has a superb clean VALJOUX 7733 chronograph FULLY SIGNED 17 jewel movement fitted. It is in full working order and is running well. All of the pushers work as they should and the centre hand snaps back bang on to twelve. The movement winds and sets smoothly showing no undue wear. It keeps good time as tested over a 24 hour period. This beautiful movement has just been serviced by my watchmaker at great cost to me. The crown is original, is FULLY SIGNED and only shows some light wear. The plastic crystal is brand new and as such is in excellent condition.


BAND:


I have fitted a BRAND NEW black genuine leather 20mm band to this lovely wristwatch. As it is new it is in minty condition and has not been worn. It compliments this watch superbly.
