Up for SALE WITH A BUY IT NOW is: A beatiful, vintage set of 2 Daison Bookends featuring the couple Darby & Joan, who names define, a couples contentment with each other, over the ages. Each has a pet at their feet (Darby/dog Joan/cat). Each is busy doing a task sewing or reading. Their names are on the back sides of each base as shown. The original foil Daison label is on the bottom of one, with foil edge wear. This reads: Daison 24k gold plated Metalliques. Felt bottoms have aged with holes and wear from age and use. Book ends are very heavy for the size. Metal or technique to make, is unknown to me a magnet does not stick, I could not find much on this company than other bookends they made in 24 gold plate. Condition: Typical cold paint loss from handling. Beautiful sheen. Joan has a mold pop, near her glasses as shown in the close-up and in the making. No major issues such as breaks or cracks just some abasion or fine scratches, paint loss to attest to age and handling. Felt/label wear as described above.
