Howdy and welcome to my store!

Few Vetiver fans would have seen this coming. Around two years since the release of the band's second album - the excellent To Find Me Gone - comes this remix 12" collecting electronically-enhanced reworkings of 'Been So Long' and 'You May Be Blue'. Perhaps weirdest of all is that the remixers behind these versions are none other than Vetiver frontman Andy Cabic himself, and Thom Monahan (producer of the original recordings) masquerading as Neighbors (sic). Cabic used to be in San Franciscan disco outfit Tussle, so perhaps it shouldn't come as such a surprise that he's willing to get busy with the electronic beats on the remix of 'You May Be Blue', which actually ends up set in something approaching a schaffel rhythm (only a matter of time before these guys score themselves a slot on a Speicher 12)". Slightly more organic in its execution, 'Been So Long' is transformed into a droning electroacoustic cut, comprised largely from the harmonised backing vocals on the original track and its deep, trance-inducing percussion. All very good indeed.
