A lovely vintage pattern for a little girls dress, so pretty and simple to knit (basic crochet is needed when making up the dress). Dress down for playtime or up for a party! This pattern is designed for girls with either an 18, 19½ or 21 inch chest and was originally knitted in Wendy "Whisper" wool which is sadly now discontinued. However, it was a 4-ply mohair blend being 66% mohair and 34% acrylic. You can occasionally obtain this wool on ebay from fellow knitters downsizing their collection of wool, but you can if you wish try a modern 4-ply as this pattern was released as wool was becoming standardised, but work your tension square and change needles if necessary to obtain the tension stipulated in the pattern. A timeless ever fashionable piece for a little girl to be treasured and worn for years to come.

MEASUREMENTS: 

Chest- 24 [26] [28] inches

Length from top of shoulder- 18 [19½] [21] inches

Sleeve seam- 1 1/2 [1 1/2] [2] inches

MATERIALS:

4-ply wool (see above regards wool),

1 pair of No.10, 11 & No.12 needles; 3.00mm crochet hook; 3 buttons

TENSION:

13 sts. to 2 inches on No.10 needles over st.st.
