What is tatting? - Tatting is an ancient form of lace making using a small shuttle (or two), thread and your own hands which hold the thread for the shuttle to pass through!, indeed even Queen Victoria of England enjoyed tatting! Tatting involves wrapping thread around one or two shuttles and using the shuttles to guide the thread into patterns of knots to create rings and chains in delicate designs. Like knitting and crochet the skies the limit on projects which can include; doilies, earrings, necklaces, ornaments, tablecloths etc. Tatting shuttles can be obtained from my ebay shop.

Information About This Pattern - This is a lovely basic pattern explaining how to tat in words and diagrams also giving you information on how to make simple 'rings'  and 'picots' as well as a simple pattern for a cheval set. A lovely beginners piece.
