Welcome - Up for your consideration is this rare, 1890 John C. Nimmo, London, Limited Edition, 2 volume set of "The Memoirs of Count Carlo Gozzi". This is a matched limited edition set both volumes are number 150 out of 210. This is the Large Paper Edition, Royal 8ov (octavo) with seven etchings in duplicate. The volumes were translated into English by John Addington Symonds with essays on Italian empromptu comedy, Gozzi's life, the dramatic fables and pietro longhi by the translator. With portrait and six original etchings by Adolphe Lalauze, also 11 subjects illustrating Italian comedy by Maurice Sand, engraved on copper by A. Manceau, and colored by hand. All etchings and plates are present, in fine condition and covered with original onion skin paper. Covers are hard board, half maroon over green cloth, gilt shield device on upper boards and paper spine labels. 

CONDITION - The books are in fine to good condition considering age. No marks or tears on pages, some normal age yellowing, some staining on a few pages from old newspapers that were used as page markers. Covers are good with bumps to corners, spines are brittle with cracking, Vol 2 has been taped, vol 2 also has broken front and back gutters.

SIZE - Each volume measure approximately 10 3/4" by 7", vol 1, 371 pages, vol 2, 379 pages.
