KM 71, 37 year type, issued for the Albertine Line of Saxony, prior to German unification, during the Thirty Years' War. Saxony was founded in AD 850 and issued its first coinage c. 990.  The Electoral Right was obtained in 1547.  One of the most powerful German States at the time of the Reformation,  Saxony was forced to cede half its territory to Prussia in 1815.  Saxony became a kingdom in 1806, and its last king abdicated in 1918.  Five cent size silver coin, with the coat of arms on the obverse.
