A 7" tall oval-shaped clear-glass antique BABY or NURSING bottle.  What is really special about this very-early nursing bottle is that it was an innovative NEW STYLE of bottle, it is OVAL when at this time (early 1900) , all of the nursing bottles were round, cylinder shaped!  This is an antique CORK-TOP bottle, dating back to the early 1900's.

• Bottle embossed:  "THE "OVALE" NURSER / NON ROLLING / WHITALL TATUM COMPANY".  In the center it has embossed  horizontal  lines, measurements, with the numbers 1 - 8 OZ.
  

• Condition:   Bottle is in good condition with stain/content haze , NO cracks, chips, dings, damage, etc. (See photos for overall condition).   On 2nd thought, it does have the tinest little flash right in the letter "I" of 'ROLLING'.   It is very hard to see, very small and insignificant, as you can't even see it in the pictures, where it is in full view.

What an innovative antique nursing bottle, a break-through, an oval bottle that could not roll off a table and break, when all others were round!   Whitall - Tatum was one of the leading glass houses back in the late 19th - early 20th century when they designed and manufactured this oval utility nursing bottle.  Not a commonly seen bottle, most all of the nursing bottles you see for sale that are this style, only have the embossed measurements, NOT the embossed lettering down the front as this one does.   These originally took a rubber nipple with the base of it like a rubber band, it fitted tightly over the neck and mouth of the bottle.  This was the predecessor of the plastic nursing bottles that are still in use today, yet as mentioned, this one is a good CENTURY OLD.  A rare example with the 'OVALE NURSER' embossing, check it out!
