180g Audiophile Vinyl 1/2 Speed Mastered by Friday Music's Joe Reagoso From Original Master Tapes!
Close to the Edge, Yes's follow-up to the 1971 smash album Fragile, has been called the greatest progressive rock album of all time, and with good reason. Although Yes had a tough act to follow, they delivered an essentially superior record less than one year later. Indeed, this is their magnum opus.
At a length of just under 38 minutes, Close to the Edge is vast, yet it is comprised of only three tracks. Delicate textures of acoustic guitar and keyboards, punctuated by thoughtful drumming and blistering bass lines, populate these intricate arrangements. Lead singer Jon Anderson's high-pitched and ethereal voice soars above it all. The main attraction is the side-long title track, which represents the musical, lyrical, and sonic culmination of everything that Yes worked toward over the previous five years.
In the enormous output of a band that has been active for forty years, Close to the Edge represents the ultimate in musical creation. This timeless classic transcends genre clichés and is a wonderful addition to any record collection.

Limited Edition 180g Audiophile Vinyl LP Mastered by Friday Music's Joe Reagoso!
After the amazing success of the mega platinum 90125, Yes embarked on a grand world tour in 1984 featuring the stellar line up of Jon Anderson (vocals/guitar), the late great Chris Squire (bass/vocals), Alan White (drums/vocals), as well as the return of Tony Kaye (keyboards/vocals) and new Yes member Trevor Rabin (guitar/vocals). This album was recorded in Edmonton, Canada at Northlands Coliseum 1984, as part of the soundtrack of the movie "9012Live."
The tour was a stunning smash and luckily tape was rolling as they captured each member in their own cosmic and artistic space, which prevailed in each and every performance on this fine album.
This long out of print album featured crowd pleasers like "Hold On" and "Changes" from 90125, plus incredible vocal work outs from Jon Anderson on "Soon" from Relayer and Alan White and Chris Squire’s duo solos on "Whitefish." Even "Amazing Grace" receives an entirely new interpretation from the magical bass of Chris Squire, which is one of the finer examples of the sheer artistry and innovative music that Yes has been giving their worldwide audience for decades.
Friday Music has been releasing the artistry and impeccable Yes Atlantic Records catalog now for many years, so it is with great pleasure to announce the first time 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl release of Yes 9012 Live The Solos.
Mastered impeccably by Joe Reagoso at Friday Music and Capitol Studios, Hollywood, CA, this special limited edition release also includes the original LP sized artwork elements not seen since its original vinyl release back in 1985.
"In March of 1984 this long overdue show went on the road. Aside from seeing three continents, three tour managers, one small army of Argentinian security, encountering numerous threats, one ticket office bombing, some minor bickering and moaning, one squadron of flying saucers over Denver, lots of vodka and surviving two international escapes, the tour went smoothly and without incident. In spite of, or perhaps as a result of all this, what ensued was a series of shows that delighted audiences everywhere. Now for your listening pleasure, some of these magical music moments have been preserved on wax...Enjoy, and thank God for small miracles and hasty retreats." Mickey Heyes, assistant tour manager.

Remastered, with alternate versions of "Everydays," "Dear Father" and "Something's Coming"
Yes (1969) is considered among the first progressive rock albums. The original line-up of vocalist Jon Anderson, bassist Chris Squire, guitarist Peter Banks, keyboardist Tony Kaye, and drummer Bill Bruford remained intact for the album's recording.
In an era when psychedelic meanderings were the order of the day, Yes delivered a surprisingly focused and exciting record that covered lots of bases in presenting their sound. The album opens boldly, with the fervor of a metal band of the era playing full tilt on "Beyond and Before," but it is with the second number, a cover of the Byrds' "I See You," that they show some of their real range. The song is highlighted by an extraordinary jazz workout from lead guitarist Peter Banks and drummer Bill Bruford that runs circles around the original by Roger McGuinn and company.
Music On Vinyl has included a bonus LP to the original package, with early versions of other songs, previously not included on the album. With remastered audio and augmented by a 4-page booklet, this is an essential Prog collector's item!
