Not all cz is the same, cut and quality vary a lot.  The difference between a good and bad quality cz can only be a few pence, yet a bad or medium quality cz can make a good piece of jewellery look cheap for the sake of saving a few pence on the cz.   So why would you not get the best quality cz when the silver costs so much? Just replacing a bad quality cz with a good one can make so much difference, a cheap looking ring can be transformed into a beautiful one just by replacing the stone.  If you want beautiful jewellery, then you need quality gems.

There are many types of diamond simulants available, the best in the world is Cubic zirconia.  High quality CZ's visually match a diamond perfectly, but not so with low quality poorly cut stones.  It is low quality stones that fade over time that give CZ a bad reputation.  This CZ you are buying will not fade over time and is cut to the highest standard.  It is very hard, 8.5mohs. Like a diamond, it can cut glass and cannot be scratched by any normal household objects.

Only things that are harder than 8.5 mohs can scratch the surface, things like rubies, sapphire and diamonds.  Things that would not likely come into contact with the cz, so it is a tough durable gem that will last a long time.  If you get a sharp steel knife and try to make even a tiny scratch in the surface, it is impossible.  So, even though it is not as hard as a diamond, it is close.  Hard enough to last for years.  Anyway, even if it didn't, it's cheap to replace.
