Description:

An antique silver bookmark made to commemorate the silver jubilee of the accession to the throne of King George V. The top of the bookmark has a detailed silver relief portrait of the King and Queen Mary below a crown. Made by Turner & Simpson Ltd, Legge Lane, Birmingham.

Weighs 17.7 grams.

Identifying Marks / Makers Marks: Hallmarked on the front "T & S" (maker Turner & Simpson Ltd), an anchor (Birmingham), the lion passant (silver), "K" (1935) and the Jubilee mark.
Age / date of manufacture:

1935.

Size: Measures 4 1/4" (10.8 cm) long without the tassel and is 1 1/16" (2.7 cm) across at the widest point of the top section. The tassel measures approximately 3 1/2" (8.8 cm) long.

Condition: In excellent antique used condition with no splits or dents to the silver. Has fine surface scuff marks to the silver. Blue tassel is faded and frayed towards the ends. Please see the photographs.
