for sale is a vintage B.S. Barnard & Co. New York 4 11/16'' cleaver knife heavy duty cutter, with leather sheath & leather handle scales. The total length including the handle is about 9'' long depending how it is measures. (see last 2 pictures) The edge is in great shape but will need a strong finish hone.  The leather handle scales are good,solid and secure to the frame. They are a bit scuffed and scratched. The leather sheath is a nice user made sheath.  I have seen other makers of this type of designed cleaver. and found this type of cleaver was for the telephone linesman trade, such as cable cutting.  I guess they could be used for other trades as well.
