I carved this from a solid piece of buckeye burl . The reason you don't find many of these listed anywhere is because buckeye burl is mostly slabbed at 2.5" thick to prevent cracking and optimize usable wood. It's nearly impossible to find a 16" diameter at 5" thick for carving. It has a hand rubbed polyurethane finish with non yellowing formula so it will look the same in 20 years. It was not made for food use and if you use it for fruit or food it could scratch and or cloud the finish. I will include a display stand with this.
