A fine old Italian full-size (4/4) violin, labeled: "SOFFRITTI ETTORE, Premiato con Gran Medaglia d'oro, Fece in Ferrara l'anno 1924".

The instrument is in ready-to-play condition and has been well preserved. It shows only two small professionally repaired cracks on the top, located to the right and left of the tailpiece. All repairs are stable.

The violin is made from high-quality materials. It features a very יפה one-piece back of softly flamed maple, with matching ribs, neck, and scroll. The top is crafted from straight, high-grained spruce. The golden-amber varnish remains in good condition and enhances the natural beauty of the wood. The instrument is fitted with old ebony fittings and new strings.

The whole length of the violin is 592 mm and the body length is 357 mm. The width of the upper bouts is 165 mm, the middle bouts 110 mm, and the lower bouts 204 mm.

The violin offers a mature, well-aged tone with a rich palette of sound colors, making it a very expressive instrument.
