A very impressive hand thrown stoneware bowl from the Soholm Pottery on the island of Bornholm in Denmark. Fully marked to the reverse  with shape number 3216/1. This piece is part of a series called Erica - with abstract design in black, blue and brown. Noomi Backhausen and Paul Brandborg  were responsible for the shape and type of pattern - there may have been individual painters who actually did the work. The Pottery was started in 1835 and production stopped in 1996. This piece probably comes form the 1960/70's period.  It has a roughened outer surface tot he the bottom half with a  glazed rim then the whole of the inside is decorated in this wonderful free style abstract pattern of circles and swirls.  It is all a matt type of glaze - nothing shiny. Dimensions are 30 x 6 cm high and weight is  1644 g. It should pack to be less that 2 Kg. Postage in the UK second class is £5.50 for a small parcel but £8.50 if a medium parcel is needed.

Buyers from the USA beware that there is an additional charge of 10% of the selling price plus a £1.50 administration charge  put on by Royal Mail. Please wait and I will send a revised invoice - only pay when you receive it. You might like to send me your address just to remind me.

Royal Mail increases its prices from 7th April 2026. Please be aware of this before bidding. This mainly applies to International services, costs inside the UK have only increased marginally. I will always try to give you the best price and to combine postage charges where ever possible. Please let me know your location before payment as I quote for the most expensive Worldwide band and your destination maybe cheaper especially if it is in Europe. Thanks Colin
