1940s-50s Rare Original British Cinema Rental Flyer - Bela Lugosi, Patsy Kelly
Double Sided original British Cinema Rental Flyer featuring the 16mm versions of films: " Spooks Run Wild" (1941) starring Bela Lugosi and The East Side Kids plus Hal Roach comedy "Kelly the Second" (1936) starring Patsy Kelly, Charlie Chase, 'Big Boy' Williams, Maxie Rosenbloom.
Rare British film distribution ephemera set from the 1940s-1950s, featuring a double-sided rental flyer from F.H. Co - a film hire company owning prints on lease or outright of every title within their catalogue.
These materials were produced solely for use by local cinemas, town halls, and non-theatrical venues as part of Britain’s post-war film rental network. They served as practical marketing tools to support the selection and scheduling of 16mm and 35mm film screenings - distinct from retail movie merchandise aimed at the general public.
They were supplied in an envelope as pictured from Butcher's Film Distributors Ltd to the Grand Pavilion, a cinema operating during the 1920s - 1950s. (The envelope is not included in the sale but for historical context/provenance only).
📍 Historical note: The flyer and envelope is a period original providing a snapshot of Britain’s vibrant post-war distribution network, regional film culture and promotional practice in the 1940s.
Ideal for: Collectors of wartime cinema, vintage film advertising, or British cinema distribution ephemera, Bela Lugosi, East Side Kids, Patsy Kelly memorabilia
