KLH Model Five Floorstanding Speakers (pair) With Stands.

A classic acoustic-suspension floorstanding speakers with adjustable acoustic balance, premium drivers, and timeless wood finishes.

Functioning Condition:

KLH’s Model Five performance is spectacular. They have pristine sound performance and quality.

Before listing them I demoed them to an audiophile who concurred of their performance condition.

Cosmetic Condition:

7.5/10

Many scratches and a couple dents. I photographed up-close all the cosmetic blemishes inside a kitchen with a sunlight window with natural light as well as having the light switch turned on. Scratches occurred during moving a move between residences.

Scratches have been slightly touched-up with an English Walnut pen.

I would prefer that they are purchased and picked up locally for two reason.

1) The buyer will be able to demo his/her self.

2) The cost of shipping will be high because of the size and weight.

If the shipping option is requested, I recommend using Fed Ex’s service only. Each speaker will be professionally wrapped and secured.

They weigh 45lbs. So, (2) 16x16x 45 boxes will be used. The price of shipping will reflect both speakers.

Time Machine

I have been listening to my Model 5s for three and a half years now and I never get tired of them. Since then I have acquired three box sets of the remastered Mercury Living Presence series from the 1950s and 1960s. I first started listening to them almost 70 years ago on the original vinyl on monaural and then stereo systems. Mostly uncompressed, the best way to listen to these recordings is to set the volume for the quiet passages and retreat to a safe distance because things get LOUD with no distortion or clipping. Throw away any preconceived ideas about speakers and what other people tell you and give the Model 5 consideration. Aside from great sound reproduction the one thing I truly appreciate is that speaker placement does not require a team of acoustic engineers in your living space.
