The earbud is likely still associated with the previous owner's AppleID, which may means you will not be able to use extra features such as the 'Find My' app.  This item is best suited for those who do not use iPhones, OR do not care about the AppleID ecosystem.


iPhones will sometimes misidentify the earbud generation until the AirPod reset process is completed, after which the phone will show the correct generation.

How to Reset & Sync Replacement AirPod with Charging Case:

1. Unpair your original set: 1.

-- Go to Settings -> Bluetooth 

2. Tap the More Info icon next to your device 

3. Scroll to the bottom, tap Forget This Device, tap again to confirm. 

4. Place both buds in the case, close the lid and plug the case into a power source. 

3. Charge for at least 30 minutes. 

4. Remove the cable, open the lid, press and hold the reset button on the case until the light flashes white. 

5. When the setup animation appears, press connect. 

6. If a setup animation does not appear after 10 seconds, close and reopen the lid.
