• MW43B Grade: A tougher, more forgiving version of GWS's successful MW43 ceramic. It provides increased fracture resistance and thermal cracking resistance while maintaining excellent wear properties. This grade is engineered for reliable performance on cast irons, including nodular (ductile) iron, especially where inclusions or casting imperfections exist. It works well with or without coolant depending on your setup.
• Geometry: 80° rhombic negative rake with dimple-style top lock. The 453T size features a 0.047" nose radius — ideal for finer finishing and semi-finishing cuts compared to the slightly larger 0.063" radius on the 454T variant. It retains the strong 1/2" inscribed circle and 5/16" thickness for durability.
• These inserts deliver high-speed finishing and semi-finishing of cast iron at elevated surface speeds, offering longer tool life and superior surface finish in production turning and boring operations.
