A 9ct gold mid century ruby eyed fox brooch / tie pin. It has a full set of hallmarks which is rare to see. It is marked '9 375' to the bar for 9ct gold and also hallmarked for Deakin and Francis. It has the date letter 'J' for 1958 and the anchor for Birmingham. It is really well made with a small sweet fox head which has textured fur and ruby eyes, the detail is superb as would be expected from the makers Deakin and Francis. It measures 7.6cms in length so is an unusually wide bar brooch and weighs 4g. It is in very good condition with no damage to the fox head. The pin is not straight due to decades of use as can be expected for an item over 60 years old. It is housed in a Mappin and Webb box which it fits perfectly, as shown in the pictures. A superb piece of jewellery. It will be very carefully packaged and posted via the Royal Mail. If you prefer to buy the brooch without the box, please get in touch for a price. I have a few pieces of gold jewellery formed as foxes - please see my other items.
