Midget Mason's Fruit Jar with Partial Year 58, Nicely Whittled, Stamped Lid

Here’s a seldom found Midget Mason whereon the usual, emobossed 1858 date is reduced to a simple 58. This one is nicely whittled. The lid interior bears the embossed milk glass lining that reads Porcelain Lined Cap For Mason Jars. The same wording is found stamped into the exterior of the lid. The lid itself shows use and some slight loss of metal along the edges, but it is still strong and useable. No lug is found on this lid. The jar is very clean and we find no chips or cracks. Usual flaking around the ground lip. The number 2 is embossed on the base.
