Compleat Angler - British Fishes

Soup Tureen with lid and ladle

Retired!

A most amazing piece from Portmeirion's Compleat Angler design, this tureen commands a little love with its size and pedestal design. Can't you just imagine serving your guests from this tureen during the holidays or at a retreat at our lakeside cabin?! After that, display it as a wonderful conversation piece in your collection!

Designed by Susan Williams-Ellis, the theme for this pattern is based on watercolor illustrations from the 1879 book "The Compleat Angler of British Fishes" by AJ Lydon. This tureen set weighs approximately 6.5 pounds and holds approximately 5.5 quarts. It stand 12" tall and 11.5" from handle to handle edges. The interior is 7" deep with a 7.5" opening at the top. It includes the tureen base, lid, and ladle.

The Compleat Angler pattern was produced from 1997-2007 and is now retired. This was made in England.

In excellent pre-owned condition from a non-smoking home. It was used for display only and does not appear used. No damage or repairs. Photos are of the actual item the buyer will receive and are considered part of the item description. (Please keep in mind that I take pics inside with natural light, so there are some window reflections in this wonderfully glossy glaze!). Please be sure to ask any questions prior to bidding or purchase since all sales are final.

This set will ship via FedEx, most likely in two boxes to minimize any potential for damage. All items will be overpacked and insured. Due to the size and weight of this item, I may not be able to combine shipping of other items in these packages. Be sure to ask if this is a concern.

Be sure to read the terms of purchase BEFORE buying

Orders ship within 4 business days of auction close (business days exclude Saturday, Sunday, and postal holidays). I am a one-person eBay buying, listing, sales, and shipping "crew" (which keeps costs down for my buyers!). Although I often ship early within that timeframe, 4 business days allows for payment processing through eBay's managed payments system, travel time on buying trips and for times when I am shipping a large quantity of orders. Please consider if this will work for you before bidding or purchasing.

If you have any questions, please inquire prior to bidding! Thanks!
