Large Antique Chinese Qing Blue & White Cloud Dragon Plate 11" (28cm)
This is a large and impressive antique Chinese blue and white porcelain plate, measuring 11 inches (28 cm) in diameter, dating to the late Qing Dynasty (19th-early 20th century).
It is masterfully decorated in the sought-after "blue ground with reserved white" technique: a fierce five-clawed dragon is depicted winding through dense cloud scrolls, with the dragon and clouds left in bright white against a deep, saturated cobalt blue background. The exterior is adorned with elegant hand-painted bamboo motifs, a classic symbol of integrity in Chinese culture.
The plate has a smooth, slightly celadon-toned glaze, and an unglazed sand foot with natural firing marks, consistent with high-quality civilian kiln production. It is in excellent original condition: no chips, cracks, or hairlines, only minor signs of age and use that attest to its authenticity.
A substantial and visually striking example of late Qing decorative porcelain, ideal for serious collectors or as a statement piece in traditional or modern interiors.
