This ACEO is part of my four‑piece Postal Whimsy butterfly set, each one built around a different 13¢ U.S. butterfly stamp. All four pieces share the same pearlescent watercolor background — soft, luminous layers that shift with the light — with abstract floral hints drifting through the wash. I used accents of orange, yellow, red, and purple to echo the natural colors found in the butterflies themselves, keeping everything airy and impressionistic.
Each card holds its own butterfly stamp as the focal point, while the abstract background ties the series together. No two pieces are alike, but they speak the same visual language: light, movement, and the quiet magic of nature.
This ACEO features one of the following stamps from the 13¢ U.S. Butterfly series:
13¢ Black Swallowtail (Papilio polyxenes)
13¢ Checkerspot (Euphydryas phaeton)
13¢ Fritillary (Speyeria species)
13¢ Mourning Cloak (Nymphalis antiopa)
