• Dr Keith Sigismund Macarthur Brown was a Parramatta-based medical doctor who practiced from the historic Brislington House and was part of a three‑generation local medical family.

• Brislington had been the Brown family residence and surgery since 1857 under his grandfather Dr Walter Brown, then his father Walter Sigismund Brown, and finally Keith, spanning 92 years of continuous medical practice on the site.

• In 1947 the Brown family were informed that Parramatta Hospital would resume Brislington; by 1949 it became part of the hospital as nurses’ quarters, and later a medical and nursing museum.

• Keith Brown is remembered as the author of this book Medical Practice in Old Parramatta (Angus and Robertson, 1937), regarded as an authoritative work on the history of medicine in the Parramatta district.​

• He is also understood to have been an honorary lecturer at the University of Sydney in the history of early colonial surgeons and physicians.
