PINK FLOYD
Hidden Tape of Big Pink: Live 1971 - Numbered Splatter Vinyl
* Brand new. Factory sealed *
"Fat Old Sun" è l'altro brano ripreso dall'album "della mucca", mentre provengono dal repertorio antecedente del quartetto le esplorazioni sperimentali e psichedeliche "Careful With that Axe, Eugene", "Set The Controls for the Heart of the Sun" e "A Saucerful of Secrets" e la ballata "Cymbaline".
Andy Capp Records is releasing a limited edition (500 numbered copies) box set featuring three "splatter" colored vinyls containing the complete recording of the concert Pink Floyd performed on April 3, 1971, at the Sportpaleis Ahoy in Rotterdam. At the time, the band was promoting the album Atom Heart Mother, which had been released the previous October. The title track of that record—performed in the final section with a brass section and choir conducted by Jeffrey Mitchell—is the highlight of a show that opens with "Astronomy Domine" (from their debut album The Piper at the Gates of Dawn) and closes with "Embryo," which, as usual, is significantly different and more extended than the version released that same year on the Harvest compilation Picnic – A Breath of Fresh Air. "Fat Old Sun" is the other track taken from the "cow album," while the experimental and psychedelic explorations "Careful with That Axe, Eugene," "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun," and "A Saucerful of Secrets," along with the ballad "Cymbaline," originate from the quartet's earlier repertoire.
