British Rail (Southern Region)
Waterloo & City Line Instructions
Official British Rail operating instruction manual issued for the Waterloo & City Line, dated January 1971 and issued by order of the General Manager.
This internal working manual contains detailed operational instructions relating to the Waterloo & City line, including signalling arrangements, operational procedures and line diagrams.
The manual also includes Supplement No. 2 dated June 1979, which supersedes Supplement No. 1 and updates the working instructions. The supplement is retained inside the front cover.
The book also retains the original fold-out diagram inside the rear cover, showing the Waterloo & City line signalling layout.
Items such as this were issued for railway staff rather than the public and are now sought after by collectors of British Rail operating manuals and railway ephemera.
