Quality
Our Gold nuggets are natural creations out of the neoarchean era and should remain as found. Most specimens contain small amounts of host rock, such as quartz or hematite. Acid cleaning or polishing alters their natural appearance and should be avoided for collector’s items.
Native gold is not found in ‘pure’ 24-carat form. Depending on its origin, it typically contains up to 96% fine gold, with the remainder being silver and traces of base metals.
We are located in the East Murchison region of Western Australia, one of the world’s oldest (2,5 billion years) geological formations, renowned for producing exceptionally fine gold of 92–96% purity (22 to 22.56 carat). To achieve 999.99 (parts per thousand) bullion quality, gold must be refined.
Pricing
Most of the world’s industrial gold nugget production is melted down. To prevent this, nuggets should be priced at their actual gold value plus a fair premium to reflect the effort involved in hand-mining, selecting, cleaning, and marketing.
The beauty and rarity of each specimen must also be considered. Gold nuggets are rarer than diamonds!
