Shanghai Clothing Depot
Manufactured in 1944 (Showa 19)
Originally, this was a 4-button enlisted/NCO work uniform. However, officer-grade buttons were professionally sewn on, converting it for officer use. As such, this is an officer-converted service/work uniform from the wartime period — a fascinating and highly collectible variation.
Condition Notes:
-
Both pieces remain unused and in outstanding condition.
-
Slight tonal variation between the front and back fabric panels of the trousers (minor shade difference).
-
No significant damage or wear observed.
A complete, matching upper and lower set of an officer-used Type 3 work uniform in unused condition is extremely scarce. Especially with clear 1944 Shanghai depot markings, this set represents a rare opportunity for serious collectors of Imperial Japanese military uniforms.
Hard to upgrade. Museum-level potential.
