Authentic vintage printer’s type case by Hamilton, featuring the original cast metal handle stamped HAMILTON and classic compartment layout with letter markings inside the cells. These cases were originally used in old print shops to store metal and wood type for letterpress printing.
This piece has beautiful, honest age-related wear and a rich, warm patina developed over decades of use. The interior still shows the original letter guides, a wonderful detail that adds character and confirms its printing-house history.
Today, these trays are highly sought after for:
Wall display and shadow box decor
Curio and small collectibles storage
Jewelry, thimbles, shells, miniatures, ephemera, and found objects
Rustic, farmhouse, industrial, or vintage interiors
