WHAT'S INCLUDED:

PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION GUIDE – CRITICAL FOR NO LEAKS:

  1. CLEAN THREADS: Remove all dirt, oil, and old sealant from both the adapter's threads and the threads of the port you're installing it into.

  2. APPLY SEALANT:

    • PTFE Tape: Wrap the MALE threads 4-6 times clockwise (looking from the end of the fitting). Do not cover the first thread. For fuel/oil, use PTFE tape rated for hydrocarbons (often yellow or pink).

    • Liquid/Paste Sealant: Apply a moderate amount to the male threads. Use a sealant compatible with your fluid (e.g., Loctite 545, Permatex High-Temp Thread Sealant).

  3. INSTALLATION: First, screw the MALE end of this elbow into your engine block, oil filter sandwich plate, or remote mount. Tighten firmly using a wrench—typically 1.5 to 2 turns past finger-tight for NPT. Do not overtighten, as this can crack aluminum housings.

  4. SECOND CONNECTION: Once the elbow is securely installed, apply sealant to your sensor or gauge's male threads and screw it into the FEMALE end of this elbow. Tighten snugly.

  5. PRESSURE TEST: After installation and before full operation, start the engine and carefully check for leaks at both connections. Re-tighten slightly if necessary.
