Large Polished Brazilian Agate Geode Slab – Core Drilled – Druzy Quartz – Vintage Lapidary Décor
This is a stunning 9lb 4 ounce, oversized slice of a natural Brazilian agate geode that was professionally cut, polished, and core-drilled decades ago for use as a lamp base or sculptural rock décor piece.
The polished faces show classic fortification banding in soft gray, white, and translucent chalcedony, with multiple druzy quartz crystal pockets exposed inside the stone. The outer edges retain the natural geode rind, proving this is a genuine agate nodule and not carved stone.
A center hole was drilled by a lapidary shop, originally intended for a lamp rod or art display. These large drilled agate slabs were very popular in mid-century and 1970s rock décor.
This piece is exceptionally large and heavy, making it a fantastic statement display for:
• Rock & mineral collectors
• Lapidary art lovers
• Natural home décor
• Bookends or sculptural display
• Lamp restoration projects
Weight: 9 lb 4 oz (very substantial piece)
Condition:
This has cracked and been glued back together. (see photos).
A rare, eye-catching collector piece.
