SONY WM-FX877 1999 Radio Walkman Vintage Cassette Player From Japan Tested

Description

SONY WM-FX877 was released in 1999 as a 20th anniversary model. It is a portable cassette player with radio. The radio function is available in USA and CA.

We have confirmed sound output, Play, Repeat, REW, FF, and radio operation using both a gumstick battery and an AA battery. It works fine and sounds good. There are some notes regarding the operation; please refer to the NOTES section below for details.

Original drive belt has been replaced to brand new. Belt contact surface cleaned and polished. And Head cleaned and demagnetized with cleanig tape several times.

The serial number is I65473. It is made in Malaysia.

Notes: ① The display of this WM-FX877 is somewhat difficult to see when viewed straight on. It becomes clear when viewed from a different angle. This does not affect its operation or sound in any way.　② This FX877 ocatiobnaly experiences button malfunctions, especially immediately after replacing the battery or cassette tape. However, in many cases, normal operation can be restored by waiting about one minute after inserting the battery and then pressing each button several times. ③ This cassette player works with gum stick batteries or AA batteries. When using AA batteries, an external battery case is required. This item does not come with an external battery box for AA or batteries.

Vintage Audio Notice : Although serviced, vintage cassette players may exhibit some wow and flutter or speed variation due to the nature of the unit, as well as cassette condition and batteries. Overall, it is suitable for normal everyday listening..
