About this vehicle
Restoration: - painted - New window and door seals - New engine block and all interior components (has less than 50 miles on it) - New cylinders and pistons - New coil - New distributor cap - New spark plug wires - New oil cooler - New dash - Custom gauges - Modern stereo and sound system (6 speakers) - New seats and seat belts - New headliner (installed to the best of my ability) - New carpet - New door panels - All new wiring - New battery - New headlights - Swapped transmission - New master cylinder - New fuel sending unit - Added light bar and roof rack - Basically entirely new interior Unfinished/potential problems - light bar needs some wiring work, it’s not drawing enough power. Probably because of the way I wired it. I also have led bulbs for it - Temp and oil pressure gauge work intermittently. Not sure if it’s the sensors or the wire. - Engine and transmission have leaks (probably needs to be addressed) - Does not have a rear seat - May need an amp. Music is hard to hear when driving due to loud engine noise - Most likely needs a tune up, has been sitting unused for long periods of time. - Defroster vents aren’t hooked up yet. Just needs hoses run to them. - Has larger tires on it that rub if you turn too far - Wiper switch does not seem to work - Does not have washer fluid reservoir - Exhaust is starting to rust and has a small hole - Glove box currently does not openVehicle Details
Selling my 1969 vw beetle / Baja bug. It has been my project car for the last 5 years. I put a lot of effort and money into restoring it to the best of my ability. This was my first time doing a project of this type. It’s about 90% complete, just has minor kinks to work out. See video for pre-restoration. I have little time and motivation to keep moving forward on this project so I’d like to pass it on to someone who can give the car the time and attention it deserves. It has driven well the few times I’ve taken it out. To my knowledge the body has almost no rust and the floor pan is in pretty good shape.
It is a Baja build and has fiber glass front and rear fenders, and engine cover. As well as Baja mirrors, exhaust, and bumpers. Plus larger wheels/tires. Comes with a car cover and a few extra parts.
Original speedometer says 80,000 but I have no idea if that is accurate. New speedometer reflects the mileage of the new engine.
