Buying the women’s version instead of the men’s (just because it looks similar or is cheaper) is often a bad idea because the fit is different. The women’s model typically has a different shoulder-strap shape/spacing and a different hip-belt contour, so on many men it can sit wrong, rub or pinch, and the hip belt may not carry the load properly, pushing more weight onto the shoulders and lower back.
