For the Digital 3D Stereo Photography Enthusiast

Various cables & accessories for 3D pictures with Sony Cameras with multiport

I offer for sale a variety of items for twining two Sony cameras. The cameras must have a multiport (very early cameras do not have it and all newer Sony cameras have dropped this port but there are many cameras that do have it - please make sure that your cameras have a multiport).

The system supports plugs with 2.5mm connections, not 3.5mm.

The cables have a 90 degree (right angle) plug at the camera side (multiport end). This protects the port. If this plug is straight, it is easy to hit it and damage the port. You still need to be careful to protect the port. If the port is damaged (it has happened to me with a couple of cameras) then you cannot twin/synchronize this camera using the port.

I offer cables in two orientations, which I call A and B. Please look at the diagram to see what this means. The cable can go up or down. The user might want to use a specific orientation for many reasons. For example, if it goes down, it might hit the mounting bar. Or it might block another port. Please make sure that you select the correct orientation. The diagrams mention certain models and which way the cable will point. Please verify this information for your camera.

Here are the items that I offer for sale:

1. Remote S2 Cable with A multiport orientation and male 2.5mm plug

2. Remote S2 Cable with B multiport orientation and male 2.5mm plug

3. Remote S2 Cable with A orientation and FEMALE 2.5mm plug

4. Splitter Cable: One side is a single male 2.5 plug and the other side are two female 2.5mm plugs. This can be used to connect the two remote cables. Once the cables are connected with the splitter cable, you should be able to fire the pair by pressing the shutter button of one camera. Or, you can attach a switch (including a remote switch) to the male end.

5. Shutter release box: This is a small box with two female 2.5mm plugs. You can insert the S2 cables into this box and then press the button to fire both cameras. This way you do not have to touch the cameras to fire them, only this switch.

6. Small 2.5mm extension cable. If the pair of the S2 cables is not long enough (for example, when using the cameras side-by-side on a slide bar) you can use one of these extensions cables to extend the separation of the cameras. If you need to separate the cameras considerably, there are longer cables you can buy and use.

7. Straight Multiport Cable

I have rather extensive experience using Sony cameras. Some of the cameras that I have used: RX0, RX1RM2, RX10, RX100, A7RIV. If you have any questions regarding twin Sony camera connection and synchronization for 3D stereo photography, do not hesitate to contact me.
