Historical context: Praga 1988, also known as the Praga 1988 World Stamp Exhibition, was an international philatelic exhibition that took place from August 26 to September 4, 1988 in Prague in Czechoslovakia.
The exhibition was held under the auspices of President Gustav Husak and FIP – Federation Internationele de Philatelie (International Philatelic Federation).
In the competition classes, 928 exhibits from 55 countries were evaluated.
The largest number of exhibits came from the Federal Republic of Germany, a total of 106.
There were 84 Czechoslovak exhibits.[
Exhibited pieces were evaluated by an international jury.
It consisted of 53 members and 13 observers from 36 FIP member countries.
The jury was headed by Ladislav Dvoracek.
The book Czechoslovak Philately was published on the occasion of the exhibition (Wiki).
