The build-date of this truck was summer of 1998; I bought it in August 2007, and have been operating it continuously since then. Leased to Schneider initially, then, got my own US DOT authority in 2015. This truck has been nothing less than totally awesome! Usage since purchase has been well under maximal, expecially over last 10 years or so. In-frame Cat overhaul in 2014 at Holt Caterpillar in Dallas, and this yellow motor still uses virtually zero oil !! Maybe add a gallon (always Rotella T4) something like 12,000-13,000 miles after PM (always done at Speedco).
18 speed transmission (wow!). Really good (Michelin) tires and brakes. Still has original paint, so, a buyer could invest in a paint job in the color of choice, without disturbing a recent paint job in a color not liked ;-). Changed over from 24.5 to 22.5 tires a number of years ago due to being more readily available. Transmission and drive axles also rebuilt at Rush Peterbilt in Dallas (don't remember exact year), but everything presently totally ready to go. Reason for selling is TOTALLY because I'm now (finally!) ready to hang it up and retire.
This truck is equipped with 120v inverter, running a 5.7 cu ft refrigerator/freezer and a microwave oven The fridge-freezer is sitting in the passenger-seat position, so there is no passenger seat in this truck (but of course one could be re-installed). So, I literally can't remember the last time I spent money in a restaurant while working! (And ice-cream treats available 24/7!) The microwave oven is in the sleeper compartment.
(Also, btw, the left horn cover got knocked off by the spray at the Blue Beacon truck wash recently -- yes, I do have that horn cover, just haven't gotten around yet to climbing up there and putting it back on).
I had a fuel-strap issue some years ago, and bought 2 new straps, but haven't put the other one on yet, due to no need, but it's included in this sale. Also included, btw, is a brand-new alternator which I've been carrying for several years as a precautionary measure.
Also for sale is my Reitnouer 48 ft flatbed with Quick Draw (7ft) conestoga. Of course these items could be sold together, but I'll wait until this tractor is sold to have a separate listing for the trailer.
Tractor and trailer are at a secured parking site on the south side of Dallas, near I-20 and both I-35E and I-45.
