"Gustavus Sohon's Portraits of Flathead and Pend D'Oreille Indians, 1854 by John C. Ewers, Smithsonian Institution, November 26, 1948, 68pp. + 22 plates.

This softbound book has very light wear to cover otherwise it is in very good+ condition.  It was published as Smithsonian Miscellaneous Collections Volume 110, Number 7 and measures 6 1/2" x 9 1/2". Sohon was part of an army detachment which established a supply depot for the Northern Route surveyors for a transcontinental railroad route and his sketches of Indians he met accompany the details of the trip and interaction with the tribes. The cover is brown/beige in color rather than the grey shown in the photo.
