Plane Prototype History:
Ro.37 Is A Biplane, Two Seater Multi-Purpose Military Aircraft Developed By Italy Before World War II, Designed By The Italian Company For IMAM. It Was Originally Designed For Reconnaissance And Observation, And Later Gradually Became Used For Ground Attacks, Light Bombing, And Even As A Fighter Jet, Reflecting The Transition Of Military Aircraft Design From Multi-Purpose Biplanes To Specialized Monoplanes Before And After World War II. The Ro.37 Adopts A Traditional Dual Wing Design With Unequal Lengths Of Upper And Lower Wings To Improve The Pilot' S Field Of View And Aircraft Maneuverability. The Fuselage Structure Is A Mixture Of Wood And Metal, Which Was A Common Manufacturing Method For Many Aircraft At That Time, Aimed At Balancing Structural Strength And Weight Control. Ro.37' S First Participation In The War Was To Equip The Italian Foreign Aid Aviation Corps And Franco' S Army. Mainly Responsible For Ground Attack Tasks. Participated In Combat In Abyssinia In 1936. When Italy Entered The War In 1940, There Were 275 Aircraft, Which Were Still Used As Frontline Fighter Planes In North And East Africa. It Was The Standard Reconnaissance Aircraft Of The Italian Army During The Invasion Of The Balkan Peninsula. Afterwards, Withdraw From The Front Line And Engage In Auxiliary Tasks Such As Liaison And Rescue. All Retired In 1943. Afghanistan, Ecuador, Hungary, Uruguay And Other Countries Have Also Used This Aircraft. Ro.37 Was Mainly Used For Tactical Support And Combat During World War Ii. In 1935, The 103rd Squadron Was Equipped With Ro.37 And Used In The Ethiopian War. In December 1935, The Unit Was Sent To Somaliland, Italy, Equipped With A Total Of 10 Ro.37 And 41 Ro.37 Bis Aircraft. At The Same Time, At The End Of 1936, The Ro.37 Also Participated In The Spanish Civil War, Mainly Used For Attack Aircraft, Some Of Which Were Modified Into Single Seat Attack Aircraft And Two Heavy Attack Aircraft. The Ro.37 Is A Typical Pre World War II Transitional Aircraft. In Terms Of Design, It Is Relatively Sturdy And Has Multi-Purpose Capabilities, Especially After The Improvement Of Ro.37bis, Its Engine Has Better Adaptability In Harsh Environments. However, As A Biplane, Its Speed, Maneuverability, And Firepower Clearly Lagged Behind Contemporary Monoplane Fighters Such As The British Hurricane Or Spitfire After The Outbreak Of World War II.
