Description:
A Chinese inside painted glass snuff
bottle with tiger eye stopper, hand painted and signed by Wang Guanyu (b.1949), a prominent and well respected artist of the Ji School.
The intricate scene, skillfully painted within the bottle, depicts scholarly figures in traditional robes travelling in two boats, amongst various autumnal trees on a serene, misty river. The expressive faces, fluid ink washes, and subtle colouring tones showcase Wang Guanyu's style. A full signature, date, inscription and red seal is seen to one side.
Of flattened ovoid form, frosted interior with narrow opening and wide flat
lip, to a small oval raised foot rim. The stopper features a domed tiger eye stone.
