This listing is for a vintage WWII (?) portable red running light in a winged metal case with a swing handle.  The case does not attract the magnet, so I assumed it was brass, but when I scrubbed the bottom with fine steel wool and paint stripper the paint came off quickly revealing a silver metal.  So I don't know what to call the metal - it could be brass or non magnetic stainless steel.  I took the burner out and it seems to be complete.  It was a hassle to get it back in, as it has pins that must fit into the socket.  It doesn't look like a kerosene burner to me, so I would suggest it burns alcohol or gasoline.  Because of this burner and the plain heavy-duty swing handle, I would date the lantern to WWII.  Maybe used for barges or amphibious operations.  It has the Perko badge on the base of the body.  Wingspan is 16 inches, and it stands 18 inches tall including the handle.  This lantern is in excellent condition with no issues that I can see.  I ship all items the day after sale except for Friday and weekend sales which go out on Monday.  All items shipped USPS in sturdy corrugated cardboard boxes with lots of padding.
