08350 DM3MECH Mechanical Hot Tapping Machine Kit for NPT applications allows hot tapping into pressurized piping systems without shutdown. Designed for steel, copper, brass, aluminum, and compatible metals for installing branch connections from 3/4" to 4" valves.

2) Function
Hot tap using the DM3MECH Mechanical Hot Tapping Machine. This kit enables hot tapping on steel, copper, brass, or aluminum pipe for installing branch connections from 3/4" to 4" valves while the system remains in service.

3) Features

  • Eliminates the need to shut down, drain, cut, refit, and refill piping systems.

  • Fits valve sizes from 3/4" to 4".

  • Provides a watertight seal for drilling under pressure using service saddles or thread-o-let fittings.

  • Compatible with mild steel, galvanized steel, stainless steel, copper, brass, and aluminum pipe.

4) Pressure Rating

  • 300 psi for ambient temperature systems

  • 15 psi for steam systems
    Note: Not recommended for ammonia, gas, or other caustic systems. Not recommended for plastic pipe.

5) Safety Notes
Applying excessive force while cutting the coupon may cause a sudden breakthrough of the hole saw. This may cause the coupon retainer to strike the back side of the main pipe and damage the retainer.
To prevent this, cut a spacer of 3/4" copper tube long enough to stop the retainer from contacting the main. Slip this spacer over the exposed shaft between the gland nut and the drill chuck.
