This 20 page booklet (written by Keith Stent and published by Trinity College London) is a brief introduction to the viva voce section in each grade level of Trinity College London's practical music examinations from Initial to Grade Eight, with sample questions on pieces used in previous examinations - see pictures for illustration. Originally published in 1987 and updated in 1993, I've had this since the early 2000s when I took the Grade One guitar examination (and passed). It's in Very Good condition- a few creases and scuffs where it's been handled and stored but nothing terrible- certainly no rips or tears on it. This publication doesn't seem to be very available on Ebay, so thought someone might be able to make good use of it at a reasonable price. Any questions, please let me know via Ebay messaging. Dispatched with Royal Mail 2nd class large letter. Notes: A guide to the Trinity College London viva voce in grade exams varies by grade level but generally involves a conversation with an examiner to demonstrate the candidate's theoretical knowledge with specific reference to the skills which they have studied. At lower grades, the candidate is expected to recognise pitch and note values As grades increase, so does the complexity, with candidates expected to show cumulative knowledge of key signatures, marks of expression, modulation and form so that by Grade Seven and Eight s/he has a knowledge of the structure and background of the pieces s/he plays.
