This is a “Midnight Chinese” prototype of the TRU Night Force Short-Fuze from 2004. I bought about three sets of these figures that had the white plastic pants which were preproduction painted. These were available before the release of the production figure. This was part of a major controversy when Joe fans at the time were speculating that Hasbro employees were turning on the figure machines at “midnight” and cranking out limited color variations. Popularized by the title

“Midnight Chinese” figures. As someone well in the hobby at that time, I never prescribed to the idea. But it was an interesting time when many variation preproduction colored figures were being available and not simply a handful (probably a max of 25 each Night Force character were in the market in the mid 2000’s).

Anyways, I ended up with multiples and I’m slowly selling off a few from my collection . Here’s your chance to go back in time and grab a highly sough after/controversial figure.
