New Americanized Encyclopedia Britannica 1899 Volumes 3,5,12,14 Geo M Hill co.
These are the only 4 volumes that survived the years but they are in acceptable to good shape. the leather covers have seen better days but they are all intact and all of the pages are almost pristine with minimal yellowing around the edges. the front cover and the spine have slight separation starting but its still solidly connected. If you are looking for a museum piece that has never been used this is not the listing for you. These books have lived more than a century and they wear the age on their beautiful tan leather bindings but the internal pages and full color folding maps are all intact and look to have been well cared for.
Overall these books are in tremendous condition in my opinion for real leather bound books from over 125 years ago. They are the only surviving copies of this set of encyclopedia and they do show moderate wear and some scratches and a few scrapes in the leather binding as well as one small hole all shown in the pictures.
