This is a lovely vintage/antique wooden knife marking gauge, very good quality,marked F Matthews but can find no information on that name as a manufacturer but seems too well engraved/stamped to be an owner’s marking ?
Please look at the photos for condition.
Knife and distance block lock in place with very nicely made wedges, the two main pieces are made of different woods possibly mahogany shaft & beech block & wedges.
In good working condition but could potentially benefit from a gentle clean/ refinish.
